Our client, a traditional Fit out & Refurbishment contractor are looking to employ a Contracts Manager, who’s experienced within the area of London and the South East to join their growing team. They have 2 offices, one on the South Coast the other within the square mile. However you will not be expected to travel to the offices on a daily basis as they are setting this position up on a ‘remote office’ basis. Working closely with the Project Director and Managing Partners.
The successful candidate must be able to work well within a team of PM’s and QS roles and client appointed consultants. Having a proven track record in to producing credible presentations to win bids. You will be required to have good attention to detail, be innovative, able to put together
financial plans and programme information. Must also have a good understanding of industry
leading methodology and logistics.

The successful candidate will need to be able to initiate and undertake the following aspects of the
business. These responsibilities are not exhaustive, and we expect the candidate to be initiative and
bring new ideas to the table for discussion:
Be well presented, able to deal with a variety of stakeholders at Director Level, specifically PM and QS and Client appointed consultants.
Good knowledge of procurement using 2 stage D&B and Single Stage D&B tendering.
An excellent understanding of Health & Safety compliance, track record and be passionate
Be able to produce detailed, credible and well thought out programmes, using innovation to de-risk project and programme
Be an excellent negotiator with skills in influencing and conflict resolution.
A passion for improving quality, attention to detail and a credible approach to achieving Zero defect handovers
Excellent understanding of Project Risk, the Critical Path and methods to de-risk project and programme.
Desirable candidate attributes:
A diverse professional network of consultants, notably client PMs and QS practices. Multi-Site end users would also be of benefit.
Knowledge of producing Framework bids for Public Sector frameworks
- Excellent professional network of manufacturers
and distribution partners with ability to
secure favourable project rates.
Be working towards membership of a professional body such as RICS, IOB, APM or other relevant body
Has delivered commercial schemes of varying complexity, values from £500k - £3m
Experience delivering schemes in occupied buildings
Delivered schemes on a traditional basis (No wholly turnkey D&B background accepted)
- Experience delivering schemes with complex
Mechanical and Electrical Services installation,
including in occupied spaces.
Experience delivering both Cat A and Cat B Fit outs and refurbishments.
Experience delivering Fast Track schemes.
Experience delivering schemes with major structural elements (cut and carve)
Experience in delivering Public Sector Works, in particular Education Schemes for the
Education & Skills Funding Agency on both Free Schools and Priority Schools Building Programmes.
Experience of bidding for Frameworks across the Public Sector.

Negotiable for the right person. They expect to pay in excess of £100K
