Our client is a professional construction management firm that provides a wide range of services to clients in the construction industry. The company specializes in delivering successful construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards and they are now looking to engage with an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.
Scope of Role:
- This role will involve travelling to all Group sites around the UK and staying overnight as required
- Normal construction site & office hours with out of hours only required in exceptional circumstances
- Primarily anticipated to be conducting site visits (3 days per week). Remainder to be a mix of Head Office (Birmingham)/Home working office days
Duties:
- Undertaking site visit and support the operational management teams in fulfilling their roles. As required undertake written inspections and audits on SHE topics of construction activities
- Supporting the Health and Safety Manager in maintaining and developing the Group’s ISO 45001 Safety Management System
- Supporting the consistent implementation of the Safety Management System across the Group
- Promoting a positive safety culture across the Group
- Supporting their Group goal of preventing injury and ill health arising from our activities
- Providing a strong focus on proactive contractor management
- As required undertaking risk assessments and driving the implementation of risk control strategies for Group activities
- Investigating/recording incidents, near misses, complaints, and cases of ill health
- As required scheduling and running health and safety meetings, presentations, and training courses
- Keeping up to date and ensuring Group compliance with legal, technical, and regulatory information
Experience & Qualifications:
- A Full UK Driving License is mandatory
- Preferably with a minimum 3 year’s Construction experience in a health and safety capacity; but candidates with an interest in Health and Safety looking to enter the construction industry will be considered
- Preferably a recognised Health and Safety qualification e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH Construction Certificate etc.; but unqualified candidates looking to enter the construction industry will be considered
- Preferably you will be a member of IOSH e.g., Chartered Member of IOSH, Technical Member of IOSH; but candidates with an interest in Health and Safety looking to enter the construction industry will be considered
