Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Planner proficient to join their team. As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project planning and execution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of their projects in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project (and occasionally Primavera P6) software.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity lists to effectively plan project activities.
  • Estimate the duration and sequencing of project activities, considering resource availability and dependencies.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying potential delays or issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular schedule analysis to assess critical path, identify schedule risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project teams to optimize resource allocation and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Prepare and present project schedules and reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, deliverables, and risks.
  • Assist in the development of project cost estimates and budgets, ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding project planning and scheduling best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in project management software to enhance planning processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. (Preferable, but not essential)
  • Proven experience as a Planner (or similar role) in the construction industry, preferably within the UK market.
  • Proficiency in MS Project (Essential) and Primavera P6 software (Desirable, but not essential) with the ability to create and manage complex schedules.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and budgeting processes is desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) or equivalent are a plus.
